In 1989, William Chaney came to Berlin to do an internship at the Berlitz School of Languages for his master’s degree in adult education. A few weeks before his planned return to the US, a funny thing happened: the Berlin Wall fell. So he decided to stay for a while – and worked another six years as a trainer for German and English and as the methods director for teacher training, quality assurance, and quality control. That led to a career in human resources: he worked for several years as a training, development, and hiring manger in pharmaceutical and IT companies in Berlin, Munich, Aachen, and Brussels. In 2003, he combined his business and linguistic expertise to found English in Form – and created his own dream job.
